INVOLVEMENT NOSERIDING IN CALIFORNIA- The Waxhead Diaries

Matt Chojnacki brings his effortless Aussie longboard style to one of California’s premiere point breaks. Few things beat sneaking an afternoon session at a spot few people think of as a place to ride a log. There will still be people, it is California after all, but just not as many.

in his words~

“Custom features designed by Matt and shaped by Bob McTavish in 2018 for pocket surfing and extended noserides on softer point waves.

Australian designed, California tested. Most people call this an involvement shape, but for me it is more cumbersome and works on the almond shaped points. This is an old favourite board and handshaped, based on the NOSERIDER MODEL but with my desired features:

The wide point is back 3" and the tail comes in at 16.5" and nose 17 3/4". Although not as narrow and 'piggy' in the outline as my typical Aus boards, the extra volume and nose channel are effective on the slower, almond shaped perfect California point breaks.”
