We’ve turned to riding dirtbikes on days when the wind finds the waves before we do or there are no waves at all. Some big ones and some small ones. The smaller ones are ridden more often because we can ride them in the vacant lots you find all over orange county California. They seem safe enough. When it rains we grab our shovels and build jumps in the nearest dirt lot we can find. And when the waves are back we go back to the beach.
